Jamal Grey

Role in the Gorillaz Project
Was the rapper for the Gorillaz North American tour in 2002 (Phi Life Cypher rapped on all other dates on the Phase One tours).



Biography
After graduating from Lincoln University, Jamal Grey a.k.a. The Last Emperor, went to New York to begin his journey as a recording artist. This quickly landed him alongside "Mr. Hip-Hop" himself KRS 1 and Zack De La Rocha, (former lead vocalist for 2 time Grammy Award winning rock group, Rage Against the Machines). They recorded the song 'CIA' (Criminals in Action) for the 'Lyricist Lounge Volume 1' mixtape. Two short years after graduating from Lincoln, he obtained a major recording contract from Aftermath Entertainment. However nothing was released by Aftermath. His debut release would come in August 2003 on the Raptivism label, called Music Magic Myth'. 'His lyrics are the screenplay---a life divided into chapters. He has opened for such acts as the former Hit Squad (Redman, EPMD, Das EFX, and K-Solo), Common, The Roots, Talib Kweli, and KRS-1.
