Morgan Nicholls was the bassist with the band The Senseless Things. The Senseless Things had a couple of top 20 hits and may other singles in their nine years together, they split up in 1995. After that he pursued a solo career under the name Morgan and released a well-received album, 'Organised' in 2000. Since then he has been working as bassist for The Streets. (and yes, he almost certainly did provide inspiration for Gorillaz bassist's Murdoc's name - Jamie Hewlett was a big fan of The Senseless Things).
