Recordings from a session in New York, during Gorillaz' promo time in the USA after Coachella in April 2010. (There's controversy over how many sessions the Gorillaz band did during this time, with AOL and KCRW sessions previously broadcast (probably both broadcasts drew on the same session) and a session at Electric Lady Studios in NYC possibly in addition to these iTunes Session recordings). The only guests to record their part new are De La Soul, the rest of the guests appear on previously-recorded studio tracks only (Clint Eastwood features Del's rap, the same as on the debut album). The session is initally only available in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico) though a wider release has been promised. The 'iTunes interview' is an extensive 37-minute interview with Murdoc and 2D, who talk about most of Gorillaz history up to and including Plastic Beach. |
