5/4

Raw punky track. In 5/4 time, hence the name '5/4'. 2D said that the lyrics were about Lindsay Dawn Mackenzie (UK glamour model) in the Apex Tapes interviews, though this should not be taken seriously (should any Gorillaz interview?).. The song was scheduled as the second single after Clint Eastwood, but for some reason this was changed to 19/2000 and the video was scrapped, although production footage of the video featuers in the DVD Celebrity Take Down. Fan favourite. Features uncredited vocals from Miho Hatori (as revealed by viewing the Pro Tools track breakdown in the old Kong Studios site).

Lyrics:

Magic for me
Magic make no sound
It good for me
It good for me underground

Magic on me
Really got me down
Invade by city
It make my heart beat no sound
Beat no sound
Beat no sound
Beat no sound
Beat no sound

And let me tell myself...
Tell on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on

Magic for me
Magic get me through
We pledge it money
People seem to walk through you

Magic's funny
Magic get me through
All good for me
When people seem to always walk through you
Walk through you
Walk through you
Walk through you
Walk through you

And let me tell myself...
Tell on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on

She made me kill myself...
Come on
Come on

She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on
