Bill Murray
| That is disappointing for the guys: a few years ago it was revealed that Gorillaz and the Bees would work together for Gorillaz's new album. The Bees would've been the house band. Later this was changed into doing one track only: 'Bill Murray'. You know, the gut from 'Ghostbusters'. Where this eyecathing name comes from, Gorillaz and The Bees only know. Listening to this track, while looking at a picture of Bill Murray, wouldn't let any light bulb pop up above your head. Another fine addition to the 'basket of unsolved Gorillaz mysteries'. OK, people, let's get on to the part of this commentary that's about the track itself. It's a bit, like, with wind instruments and... some sound effects and, er, vocals by a mask of Damon Albarn. Definitely some nice Gorilaz collaboration work. Most collaborators just go to the studio and get their vocals recorded. This collaboration was made by two bands, not one band commanding the other band around. |
