DARE (Pollyn Remix)
|
jaythefloydfan writes in: "This remix is definetely a weird one. On the DARE remix list, you've got a rock
remix(blokrok), 3 unsurprising dance remixes(chab/dave/refix), the to long for
its own good remix(DFA), the traditional just plain wierd mix(apeshit) and the
obligatory sucky-ass mix(soulwax). Then you move to Pollyn, which definetely is
not one of the traditional remakes. All the other DARE remixes, and the original DARE are basically built around the clash the instruments create, while this one is made to be incredibly smooth. Hell, they re-recorded the vocals to sound smoother! This song is hard to classify, but takes most of its inspiration from breakbeat. Its mainly built around the strings, the smoothed out vocals, and nice flowing synths that come in and out of the song. Unlike the other DARE remixes, which remain fairly constant throughout, the song actually changes its beat about 5/8ths of the way through, including lots of new snares. Definetely one of the better DARE remixes, and easily the most original new one." |
