Happy Landfill
| Gorillaz's most catchy tune. Tututututu-tutu-tutu-tutu. At first, this was going to be the title track of Gorillaz's second album, that was earlier announced to be called 'We Are Happy Landfill'. But from a position as album track, it went to a position as gorillaz.com freebie. Well, not really a freebie, since you need the DVD+CD combo of 'Demon Days' to access the download. It seems we're not the only ones to be surprised of this track's simplicity. Gorillaz have placed four DAT tapes with the riffs of the four instruments on the track: the keys, bass, drums and guitar. Wait, did I forget the typewriter sounds throughout the song? Is a typewriter an instrument anyway? Never mind. Including Damon Albarn's (2D) hoarse vocals on this genuine Gorillaz song, this makes one of Gorillaz's best non-album track. |
