From this website, it seems like they're going to be at the Tel Aviv Rock Festival set in June!

It's GSS.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18496

And on a broader note, I wonder how many people will buy tickets to such festivals this summer expecting Gorillaz, primed on the youtube vids of the phase 3 performances, and then only get GSS?

Even in the UK media which is very aware of Gorillaz in general, I have seen a couple of reports of 'Gorillaz' playing the Secret Garden Party Festival (A UK festival) when it is GSS.

Thanks for clearing it up. And yeah, it can be quite confusing. Sorry I didn't check up the fact before posting (shamefaced)

Israeli Diamond Industry for source of information on Gz? WTF?!
As the all seeing J said, only GSS, which I'll be damned if I'm paying 80$ for.
Best bet is Damascus and Beirut gigs, whenever they'll be made known to the public.
Get your other passport ready.

It's a sound system comprising (at various times differing amounts of) DJs, MCs, singers, drummers, percussionists, and Gorillaz visuals. Minimum setup is DJs and visuals. They play a lot of Gorillaz songs as part of the DJ set, but not just Gorillaz songs. And yes they are officially approved by Gorillaz.

All the rest of the info is here:- viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18496

And you could search on youtube 'gorillaz sound system' to see some of their performances. NB, the setup does vary.

Something like this would be cool to see at your school/collage or local festival. However, I don't think I would pay "premium ticket" money to see a cover band. I never said they where asking that much. Maybe five to ten dollars for entry but that's about it. From what I saw on YouTube they mix things up a bit but nothing special. Weird part is this is the first time I'm even reading of this. Never even knew GSS existed til now. The more you know...

As far as Sound System goes, I'll keep my money in my pocket.

And the actual Gorillaz should go to Israel. Who knows, Plastic Beach might become a hit there.

we need to make the logo of boards a direction to search...

doubtful Saru. very much so.
unless they strike gold with new vid, Stylo seemed very weird to most Israelis, and I don't think it received much airplay.
then again, don't listen to the radio.

I can see why, but it'd be nice if it was so (seems like Stylo did best in Japan  ). Hm, can you tell me how well On Melancholy Hill does in Israel, if it isn't too much of a bother? I have high hopes for the video, so I'd like to see how well it performs globally.

For Saru and everyone else who might be interested in Gz Israeli stance:
Found out today Israel's most listened radio station Galgalatz (abbreviated without vowels) started posting the tunes they select for their playlist.
although they mostly play top 40 as you could tell from the list, it's much coveted by local musicians to get in that list, cause that's the best method you can create buzz for your act here.
Link over here, some Hebrew involved
http://www.glgltz.co.il/Site/PlayList.aspx?Pid=110

P.S. Pixies have done the same as GSS.
They were supposed to play here on Wed, but cancelled.
No reasons were provided.

Wow, that really blows for Israel. Really a terrible thing. The Holy Land needs some Gorillaz.
