Official biography

""Once upon a time, the Earth was ruled by manufactured pop and chaos reigned. From the chaos came Gorillaz: four intrepid heroes united as one, come to save us all... And following along behind, carrying the record box and wearing the headphones, came Gorillaz Sound System, the world's premier audio-visual party experience! Providing toe-tapping tunes and eye-popping Gorillaz visuals, G.S.S. is guaranteed to make any party go with a swing. Previous engagements for this funn -fuelled collective include spots at the launch of Dom Pérignon Oenothèque at the Langham Hotel, Berlin Fashion week party and the official Road to the MTV Awards at London's Bloomsbury Ballrooms. The hard-dancing partygoers at a G.S.S. bash are the only recommendation they need, but this lot also come with bona fide celebrity endorsement: "G.S.S. are the only people I'd trust to entertain my amigos apart from myself. The way I look at it, this is kinda like the Pope giving his blessing to another parish. And anyway I can't get the records out of those little paper cases, my nails are too long." Murdoc Niccals, Satanist Svengali and bass slayer of Gorillaz. If you have a party problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them; maybe you can hire... The G-Team."

Official press release for Creamfields described the act thus: "20 old school projectors projecting 360-degree Gorillaz visuals, and 4 DJs will DJ on the night "in Gorillaz Sound System gear".

Members ( info found here (but in Slovenian, d'oh): http://www.telekom.si/uploads/vesolje_v ... rillaz.DOC )

Nelson De Freitas (MC) and Remi Kabaka (DJ/drums) appear to be the only permanent members. Other people who have performed as part of the sound system:-

DJ Kofi - DJ / scratching (current member)
Pauli - drummer (current member)
Jose Carretas AKA Jodo ( http://www.myspace.com/joecarretas ) - DJ
DJ Guy C ( http://www.myspace.com/djguyc ) - DJ
Roland Hamilton - visuals (current member)
Rosie Wilson - vocals
unknown female vocalist - vocals

Number of DJs / projectors / performers has varied depending on the size of the event.

hey i just had a thought/
you know how they were planning that whole 3D world tour and it got scrapped cause it was too expensive? maybe this was like what came from that, a live show w/ visuals that has prerecorded stuff but with DJs too

yeah but that monkey was like way smaller and didn't have huge teeth. It's sad we're talking about a fictional character's pet but hey, it's a weird skull. Don't judge

yeah it kinda does:
http://www.boneclones.com/BC-036.htm

however, most simians shun the whole jaunty Fez thing.

ok, so if the voice of 2D is credited why isn't Murdoc who speaks on the first track? No Phil Cornwell?

........do love the whole lotta love track however.

..not so sure i love the fizzling out of Gorillaz in little bits and pieces like this and other projects tho.

Remi and Nelson are part of this group but I don't know if either actually does their gorillaz voices as part of the live show (admittedly, that would be ace, but maybe not if they were visible). The gorillaz talk in those mp3s is reused old stuff, I believe the 2D foot and mouth quote was a link from the Demon Detour...
