New phase is happening which is bueno
Reminded me this splendid forum probably still existed (and how it does! ... which is also bueno)

Right now I'm on a quest to find Search for A Star entries bc nostalgia and my 56k connection back then used to be all kinds of slow (and we had to pay per minute), so I was hoping to look at stuff I couldn't before, but these entries are hars ro come by as it seems

Not really, aside from the few things I already knew about where to locate them. I really wished the S4AS contest page was still available. Too bad automated archives weren't as much of a thing back then, huh?

The ones I remembered:
Anyway, here's the entry from Fafah Togora:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtvYS9zupkw

Also I think he entered Monkeyparty as well:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlfmnPF3fuE

There's Schneeflocke's entry:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKIPF8Bj2SM

The ones I found through googling:
Appearently this (misses video, audio quality is really bad)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9vaiIkE1tY

This

That awesome Murdoc Pencil Test animation I forgot about
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH_DjlwHm3k

MS Paint anim (?)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05_M96fPTpo

Another anim:

I also remember some animaton to Clint Eastwood with some chicken(s)? The drawing and animation style was really unique and dynamic. I wished I could watch it again haha I feel like I didn't appreciate enough back then.

What kinda bothered me about the contest in retrospect is the fact that mostly Gorillaz themed images and animations got upvoted... I guess understandably, since it's something the fans can relate to, but original content fell kinda flat due to that.

Holy shit, it's been so long since the last time I've been here! Like, years even. I don't remember.

Hey everybody, new and old.

Oh god, thanks for this, Ravel. Gonna have to flick through these for a trip to Memory Lane and Nostalgia City later.
